Project Manager, Multidisciplinary Data Centre Engineering
Function
As a Project Manager for Multidisciplinary Data Centre Engineering, you will be responsible for coordinating the entire engineering and design process. You will oversee the technical scope, schedule and engineering budget, and ensure that the various disciplines work together to produce a single, integrated design.
• You will coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex data centre projects
• You will manage the technical scope, the engineering budget and the associated contract documentation
• You draw up the engineering schedule, monitor its progress and allocate tasks within the team
• You coordinate the various technical disciplines and designs
• You will coordinate collaboration between Belgian and international engineering teams
• You will work alongside external consultants, contractors and other technical partners
• You assess technical design decisions and make adjustments where necessary
• You monitor changes to the design and their impact on the entire project
• You translate complex client requirements into technically feasible solutions
• You present and discuss technical concepts with clients and project teams
• You will remain involved during the implementation phase and act as a technical point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
Profile
For the role of Multidisciplinary Data Centre Engineering Project Manager, we are looking for someone who combines technical knowledge with strong coordination skills. Experience in data centres is desirable, but experience with industrial buildings or other technically complex construction projects may also be a good fit.
• You hold a master’s degree in electrical engineering, electromechanics, mechanical engineering or a similar technical discipline
• You have at least 5 years’ experience in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering or design projects
• You have experience of managing and coordinating engineers and other technical stakeholders
• You are familiar with complex technical building systems and multidisciplinary engineering
• Experience with data centres, industrial buildings or other complex building environments is a major asset
• You are familiar with digital engineering processes, 3D design and BIM environments
• You have a good understanding of the relevant standards, regulations and working practices within engineering and construction
• You communicate easily with engineers, consultants, contractors and clients
• You speak English fluently
• A good command of Dutch is essential
• Knowledge of French is an advantage
Organisation
As a Project Manager for Multidisciplinary Data Centre Engineering, you will be joining an international engineering and consultancy firm that designs and oversees complex technical projects.
In this role, the focus is on mission-critical facilities and data centres. These are technically demanding buildings where, amongst other things, the power supply, cooling, redundancy, security and business continuity must be closely co-ordinated.
You will be part of a Belgian engineering department that is being further expanded to focus on data centre projects. From Belgium, we work closely with international engineering teams on projects for both national and international clients.
You will be working in a multidisciplinary environment where people with different technical specialisms collaborate on the design and implementation of complex projects.
