Project Manager Electrical Engineering
Function
As an Electrical Engineering Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for electrical engineering projects in areas including low-voltage systems, lighting, network infrastructure and fire detection. You will oversee the entire process, from technical preparation through to implementation, handover and invoicing.
As an Electrical Engineering Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- The technical and financial management of electrical engineering projects up to approximately €1 million.
- The technical development of the pre-engineering phase for new projects.
- Drawing up and monitoring the project schedule.
- Ordering critical materials and monitoring the purchase.
- Coordinating electrical engineering, procurement and site works.
- Monitoring projects in terms of timing, budget, quality and safety.
- Maintaining contact with clients and all internal and external project partners.
- Providing clear instructions to site managers and technical staff on site.
- Checking and following up on the work carried out.
- Negotiating with suppliers and coordinating any subcontractors.
- Ensuring that the work carried out is invoiced accurately and on time.
- Sharing technical input on ongoing projects and concepts with the sales team.
- Reporting on the progress and results of your projects.
- Collaborating with other technical disciplines and specialist departments within the organisation.
- The role involves working primarily from the office in the Merelbeke area, combined with the necessary project and site visits.
Profile
For this role as Electrical Engineering Project Manager, we are looking for someone with a solid technical background who has now gained sufficient experience to manage projects independently. You combine electrical engineering expertise with organisational acumen, a commercial mindset and strong communication skills.
As an Electrical Engineering Project Manager, you will recognise yourself in the following profile:
- Ideally, you will hold a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or have equivalent experience.
- You have a good technical understanding of electrical installations.
- Ideally, you will have at least 5 years’ experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar electrical engineering project role.
- You have a keen interest in low-voltage systems and general electrical installations.
- You work meticulously and pay close attention to quality and detail.
- You can monitor various technical and organisational aspects of a project at the same time.
- You are customer-focused and communicate easily with customers, colleagues, suppliers and subcontractors.
- You have good organisational and administrative skills.
- You are able to negotiate effectively with suppliers and other external partners.
- You enjoy taking on responsibility and aren’t afraid to contribute your own critical insights.
- You are able to provide site managers and technical staff with clear instructions and guidance.
- Knowledge of Eplan and/or Caneco is an advantage.
- A basic understanding of the AREI and the Machinery Directive would be an advantage.
- A good command of Dutch is an absolute must.
- You are also able to express yourself well in French and English.
- You have a driving licence B.
