Process safety engineer
Function
As a Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for analysing and improving the safety of industrial plants and processes.
Your duties will include:
- Carrying out risk analyses on machines, installations and processes
- Preparation and supervision of HAZOP studies
- Advising on ATEX and explosion safety
- Evaluating machine safety and functional safety
- Analysing chemical and electromechanical risks
- Development of technical safety solutions and recommendations
- Assisting customers with implementation and improvement processes
- Preparation of safety dossiers and technical documentation
- Working with engineering partners, contractors and external specialists
- Support customers within various sectors such as pharma, chemicals, tank storage and manufacturing industries
- Providing technical training and safety education to customers
Profile
To get started as a Process Safety Engineer, we are looking for someone with the following characteristics.
- Master's degree in Chemistry, Bioengineering or Electromechanics
- Interest or experience in process safety, machine safety or industrial safety
- Knowledge of ATEX, HAZOP or functional safety is a strong asset
- Practical minded and technically analytical
- Affinity with pharmaceutical and chemical production environments
- Basic knowledge of electromechanics is a plus
- Strong communication skills and customer-oriented attitude
- Good knowledge of Dutch is necessary for documentation and customer contact
- Knowledge of French and/or English is a plus
- Willingness to visit customers sporadically at home and abroad
