Function

What will all be part of your duties in this role?

• Assessing incoming transport orders from customers
• Taking care of the daily planning of both vehicles and drivers (driving licence D)
• Delivery of transport orders to drivers, including necessary information
• Ensuring that agreed transport services are carried out
• Ensuring effective deployment of resources (personnel, vehicles...)
• Taking immediate actions if it appears that the agreed implementation deadline cannot be met
• Making changes to the planning
• Training days and leave arrangements for drivers in consultation with other planning department if necessary
• Monitoring and post-processing of services performed
• Handling discrepancies reported by the driver
• Processing work performed in preparation for wage calculation
• Transfer technical deficiencies communicated by drivers to garage services
• You must always be contactable by telephone. This means that you must be able to take immediate action if a driver is unable to drive or a vehicle breaks down

Profile

What profile will our client located in Tielt be looking for for the open vacancy of logistics planner?

• You have already gained five years of experience in people management given that you need to manage a team of about 25 diverse people (drivers)
• Experience as a planner is a big plus but not an absolute must
• You are fluent in Dutch & French
• You have knowledge of the Microsoft Office package + ideally also SAP
• You have logical reasoning skills and can quickly anticipate changes
• Flexibility is a big must as you also need to be available by phone in the evening in case of problems (breakdown, accident, etc.)
• 1 weekend out of 4 you also have permanence (rotation system and can be done from home) for the whole of Belgium
• You are in possession of a type B driving licence

Our client is a family-run bus company looking for a logistics planner for the Tielt or Eeklo site (depending on your preference)
