Planning Manager

Function

As planning manager at Oostkamp you ensure that the international transport planning runs smoothly. You manage teams, contribute ideas for improvements and ensure that people and processes get the best out of themselves.

What does your job entail?

• You manage the international planning teams and coaches employees in their day-to-day operations.
• You hold the quality and efficiency of the transport planning and adjusts where necessary.
• You follow operational KPIs , analyses the results and translates them into concrete improvements.
• You examine how the planning and transport flows smarter can be organised, for example by reducing empty kilometres and making better use of return transport.
• You will work closely with international locations and other internal departments.
• You organise team meeting, discusses the results and helps employees to develop further.

In short: a versatile role in which you manage people, optimise processes and contribute to building an efficient international transport planning.

Profile

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, gets the best out of their team and at the same time loves a well-organised planning. You know how to motivate people, enjoy contributing ideas for improvements and are willing to roll up your sleeves when needed.

Do you recognise yourself in this?

• You already have experience in transport, logistics or planning and know how things work in this sector.
• You have experience with managing and coaching employees and know how to motivate a team.
• You like to look beyond the day-to-day planning and spot opportunities to approach things more smartly and efficiently.
• You communicate easily with colleagues, customers and other parties involved.
• You have a good command of Dutch and English. Do you also speak a little French and/or German? That's a welcome bonus!
• You get on well with Excel. Experience with transport planning software such as BlueJay is an added bonus.
• You enjoy organising, like to take initiative and never lose oversight even during busy periods.

Organisation

You will join a international player in temperature-controlled transport and distribution. From various locations, they ensure that goods reach their destination safely, efficiently and on time, spread across Europe.

Collaboration and customer focus are central here. There is also a strong emphasis on improvement: you are given the space to take initiative, take on responsibility and contribute ideas on how the logistics processes can run even more smoothly.
