Banking and Insurance Officer

Function

You will start at the office in Torhout and will gradually be trained in the office’s various activities.

Initially, your focus will be on:

• Welcoming customers and assisting them with their day-to-day banking needs.
• Managing and monitoring current accounts.
• Informing customers about savings products.
• Support with short-term loans.
• Listening to customers’ needs and assisting them appropriately.
• Expand your knowledge of the various banking and insurance products, step by step.

As you gain more experience, you’ll have the opportunity to specialise further. This might include:

• Insurance.
• Mortgage loans.
• Investment loans.
• Investments and wealth accumulation.
• Financial solutions for the self-employed and businesses.

So you don’t need to be an expert just yet. The firm invests in your training and helps you discover where you’ll thrive best, based on your interests and strengths.

Profile

• You have a business-minded approach and find satisfaction in dealing with customers.
• You are assertive and confident in dealing with customers in a professional manner.
• You will work independently and take responsibility for your own tasks.
• You are intelligent, keen to learn and have the patience to thoroughly master a wide-ranging role.
• You don’t need to have any previous experience in banking or insurance. School leavers with the right attitude are also welcome to apply.

• You work meticulously and take your responsibilities seriously.
• You’re not the sort of person who wants to start looking for the next challenge after only a short while.
• A commercial mindset is important, but you don’t need to be a salesperson who is constantly focused on figures.

Organisation

You will be joining an independent banking and insurance firm with branches in Izegem and Torhout. Based in Torhout, you will be working alongside a team of around eight colleagues in total, each with their own area of expertise within banking, insurance and investments.

The organisation deliberately opts for a personalised approach. There are no individual sales targets that are monitored on a daily basis, and colleagues are given a great deal of freedom in how they organise their work. The focus is on high-quality customer contact and on solutions tailored to the customer’s situation.

You’ll also have the opportunity to choose your own specialism in due course. Perhaps you’re interested in insurance, or perhaps in investments or loans. Within the firm, there’s scope to develop your role further in line with your interests and strengths.

The working atmosphere is professional yet relaxed, with a strong emphasis on trust and collaboration. In addition, an annual group trip is organised for the team and their partners.

• A full-time role of 37.5 hours per week.
• A fixed timetable: on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, you work until 6 pm. On Wednesdays, you work only in the morning.
