Logistics Coordinator
Function
As Logistics Coordinator at Wortegem-Petegem You act as the link between transport, administration and the loaders on the shop floor. You ensure that everything runs smoothly, correctly and on time: from transport planning and the associated documentation to the day-to-day monitoring of loading processes, stock levels and quality.
In this role, you will combine an administrative mindset with a hands-on approach on the shop floor. You will work closely with dispatch, loaders and other relevant teams to ensure the logistics flow is tightly organised. You will be given responsibility, work independently and actively contribute to a safe, efficient and well-structured working environment.
- Drawing up and monitoring transport schedules.
- Preparing consignment notes, CMRs and other transport documents.
- Handling incoming and outgoing emails and carrying out administrative follow-up in Excel.
- Daily contact with dispatchers from our own transport company.
- Supervising and supporting loaders to ensure that loads are loaded correctly and on time.
- Ensuring safety, quality and smooth operational running.
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying opportunities for optimisation where necessary.
- Contributing ideas on efficiency, organisation and improvements within the logistics process.
Profile
For this role, we are looking for a candidate with 3 to 5 years’ experience and a stable career path. You should ideally have a A2 certificate or equivalent experience gained in a logistics, administrative or operational environment. You are someone who takes responsibility, maintains an overview and switches easily between desk-based work and hands-on supervision on the shop floor.
You can do your own thing in the French and English, and you are proficient in using the most common computer programmes. Experience with an overhead crane is an advantage, but not a requirement. More importantly, you work accurately, can cope well under pressure and work independently, with a clear hands-on approach and a healthy drive to get things done.
- A2 qualification or equivalent through experience.
- 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience.
- A good knowledge of common PC applications, including Excel.
- You can get by in French and English.
- Meticulous, independent and able to work well under pressure.
- Hands-on, dynamic and responsible.
- Experience with overhead cranes is an asset.
- Willing to work on site in Wortegem-Petegem, with a commute of no more than about 45 minutes.
