Inside Sales Engineer – Data Centres

Location: Zaventem, Flemish Brabant, Belgium Specialisation: Engineering Salary: € 2.800 - € 4.500 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 39 h/week Work ritme: Day

Function

As a Datacentre Inside Sales Engineer, you will act as a key technical point of contact for customers, installers and other professional partners. You will analyse their technical enquiries and work with them to identify the most suitable solution for their datacentre project.

The world of data centres is evolving rapidly. The growth of artificial intelligence, cloud applications, digitalisation and data-driven technology is driving increasing demand for reliable, energy-efficient and scalable infrastructure. In this role, you will have the opportunity to further develop your technical knowledge within a forward-looking niche.

You will work closely with clients, technical partners, internal departments and other stakeholders. Drawing on your technical expertise, you will support the entire commercial process: from the initial enquiry and technical analysis through to drawing up and following up on a quotation.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will answer technical customer enquiries by telephone and email.
  • You will provide second-line support for data centre infrastructure solutions.
  • You analyse customer enquiries, specifications and technical requirements.
  • You will advise clients on suitable solutions for, amongst other things, server racks, cabinets, power distribution, connectivity, cabling, cooling and containment.
  • You translate technical requirements into a concrete, feasible and customer-focused solution.
  • You will draw up technically accurate and commercially appealing quotations.
  • You will coordinate proposals with clients, technical partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • You will ensure the quality, completeness and timely follow-up of requests for quotations.
  • You will enter customer details, technical enquiries, quotations and projects into the CRM system.
  • You will ensure that all information in the CRM remains accurate and up to date.
  • You record recurring technical queries and potential issues.
  • You will contribute ideas on process improvements and more efficient service delivery.
  • You will help customers make the right choices regarding products and solutions.
  • You help customers and partners to further develop their technical knowledge and independence.
  • You are constantly keeping up to date with the data centre portfolio and the latest developments within the sector.
  • You will become a key point of reference, both internally and externally, for technical data centre solutions.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a technically-minded person who enjoys giving advice and thrives on customer contact. You do not need to be a specialist in data centre infrastructure just yet: a strong technical foundation and the motivation to learn are just as important.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electromechanics or a similar technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • You’re interested in data centres, digital infrastructure and technical solutions.
  • You are analytical, customer-focused and solution-oriented.
  • You can translate technical information into clear advice.
  • You communicate effectively and work with precision and in a structured manner.
  • You have an affinity for CRM systems, digital tools and Microsoft Office.
  • You speak Dutch and French fluently, or are willing to improve your command of one of these languages.
  • Knowledge of English is an advantage.

Organisation

Our client is a leading international producer of energy and smart solutions, operating across the entire chain: from medium voltage, power distribution and data centre infrastructure to smart building technology. They continuously invest in innovation, growth and knowledge.

Offer

  • Competitive gross salary depending on experience, complemented by extensive fringe benefits (meal vouchers, group and hospitalisation insurance, etc.);
  • Induction programme with intensive coaching on the job (first months in the office, then 2 days a week working from home possible);
  • Internal training and opportunity for advancement to various department or expertise roles;
  • Dynamic teams in a leading international environment where open communication, autonomy and multidisciplinary collaboration are key.
