Field Service Technician

Function

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of CNC machines at customers’ premises in Belgium and, occasionally, Luxembourg. You will mainly work from home and take on a varied field service role centred on technical work, customer contact and problem-solving.

You will combine your knowledge of mechanics, electrical systems and software to support customers from installation through to servicing and training. You will work independently in the field, whilst maintaining close contact with colleagues in the office and suppliers.

Your duties and responsibilities:

• Installation, commissioning and testing of CNC machines.
• Carrying out maintenance and technical work.
• Analysing and resolving faults.
• Training and supporting customers.
• Monitoring of machinery during and after the warranty period.
• Reporting on interventions using digital tools.
• Working with internal teams and suppliers.
• Support for automation and robotics applications.

You will receive the necessary support to further develop your technical knowledge within an environment where expertise and collaboration are key.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a technician with a keen interest in CNC machines and some initial practical technical experience. This could have been gained in a role as an operator, maintenance technician, service technician or another technical position in which you have worked with CNC-controlled machines. Your technical grounding, eagerness to learn and motivation to work on the shop floor are more important than a specific qualification.

Your profile:

• Initial experience with CNC machines, machine operation or machine maintenance.
• An interest in the technical aspects of mechanics, electricity and software.
• Customer-focused, communicative and solution-oriented.
• Be able to work independently and produce reports efficiently.
• Good knowledge of Dutch; French is an advantage. A basic knowledge of English is important for technical documentation.
• Digital skills and the ability to use a smartphone and reporting tools with ease.
• Willingness to visit customers and a keen interest in working in a field-based role.
• Driving licence B is required.
• A VCA certificate is an advantage, but not a requirement.
