Customer Service Representative
Function
As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the point of contact for customers. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer files from start to finish, working closely with warehouse managers, quay management and port services. You will ensure the correct handling of incoming and outgoing goods flows, both administratively and operationally. No two days are the same; the variety of tasks requires flexibility, the ability to prioritise and a sharp focus, even when things get busy. This role offers a dynamic working environment where teamwork and a sense of humour are key.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain daily contact with customers by telephone and email.
- Entering orders into the system (Navision) and monitoring invoicing.
- Maintaining up-to-date stock lists and managing stock levels.
- Attend internal planning meetings with Operations.
- Report to the agent and the ship’s agent on the ship’s activities.
- Attend monthly client meetings and ensure clear follow-up.
- Ensure that customs orders are correctly passed on to the customs department.
- Using internal planning tools to ensure processes run smoothly.
Profile
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Customer Service Representative who feels at home in a varied and dynamic environment. Are you someone who can adapt quickly and keep a cool head during busy periods? Then this role is for you!
We are looking for:
- Someone who communicates effectively and takes the initiative.
- A colleague who enjoys working as part of a team and helps to build a close-knit team.
- Previous experience with administrative processes in logistics is an advantage, but not essential.
- Good knowledge of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Language skills: fluent in spoken and written Dutch; good knowledge of English; French would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of transport regulations is an advantage.
- If you have your own transport, please note that the site, located in the heart of the harbour, cannot be reached by public transport.
Key qualities: customer focus, accuracy and a willingness to learn.
