Controller | Quick start-up
Function
Sometimes a role comes along where you can make a difference straight away.
Not simply by reporting figures, but by providing a clear overview of the financial monitoring of an entire overseas entity.
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller for an international production environment, who will be based in Belgium and responsible for financial control in France.
You’ll be based at the office in Sint-Truiden, but will be in daily contact with colleagues in France, Belgium and Italy.
Your function
As Financial Controller for France, you will be responsible for the financial monitoring of our operations in France.
The previous French Controller has left. As a result, there is an urgent need for someone who can step in quickly and take over the role independently.
You’re not entirely on your own. The Controller currently responsible for the Benelux can offer support and help you find your feet within the organisation, the reporting structure and the way we work.
At the same time, we are looking for someone who is mature enough to work independently. Someone who takes the initiative, finds things out for themselves and doesn’t wait for everything to be explained to them step by step.
A real plant-grower, then.
Specifically, your role will involve:
- Supporting the monthly forecast for sales, costs and capital expenditure
- Analysing the monthly P&L
- Carrying out cost analyses
- Supporting the monthly financial close
- Preparing and checking accruals and provisions
- Supporting payroll accounting, including payroll accruals and provisions
- Monitoring and improving existing processes and structures
- Providing support on ad hoc finance matters and non-statutory reporting
- Act as the financial point of contact for the French operations
You will also visit the French branch from time to time. This is not a weekly trip, but you will need to be willing to travel on occasion.
Profile
For this role, we are looking for someone with several years’ experience in financial control.
You don’t need to have done everything exactly the same way before, but you do need to have a solid enough foundation to keep up.
It is important that you are able to work independently, keep track of things and are not put off by an environment where not everything is laid out for you in minute detail.
You recognise yourself in the following:
- You have several years’ experience in finance, accounting or controlling
- You have experience with forecasting, month-end closing, accruals, provisions and reporting
- You understand how a P&L is structured
- You are analytically strong
- You work in a structured and process-oriented way
- You’re a hands-on person and like to find solutions yourself
- You are mature and able to work independently
- You can liaise easily with colleagues in different countries
- You have a strong knowledge of Excel
- You speak and write French and English fluently
French and English are absolutely essential for this role.
Knowledge of SAP would be a great bonus.
Experience of French financial control or working with a French entity is certainly an added bonus, but by no means a requirement.
Organisation
Our client is an international manufacturer with several branches around the world.
Offer
As there is an urgent need for additional staff in the short term, a swift start is highly desirable.
For this reason, various options are open to discussion. Candidates who are available for a shorter period, are between assignments, or are deliberately open to a fixed-term assignment are certainly eligible.
You can count on:
- A one-year contract
- There is a chance of an extension, although this cannot be promised today
- Quick start-up required
- An attractive gross salary depending on your experience
- Meal vouchers
- Hospitalisation insurance
- Company car with charge card
- 12 ADV days
- 40-hour week
- 2 days of working from home per week
- Flexible working hours:
- Start between 7.30 am and 9.30 am
- Finish between 3.30 pm and 5.30 pm
- No collective leave
.
