We are looking for a [position] for our client in Herenthout Calculator who enjoys working with figures, plans and technical documentation. You will be joining a stable team that specialises in waterproofing flat roofs using high-quality synthetic materials and is involved in major new-build and refurbishment projects within the industrial sector.

In this role, you will combine analytical thinking with close collaboration with sales staff, site managers and suppliers. You will learn the ins and outs of the cost estimation environment and, step by step, develop into an in-house specialist within the team. You will help ensure accurate quotations, the smooth running of projects and the meticulous preparation of our sites.

Your duties will include:

• preparing cost estimates and quotations for new-build and renovation projects;
• calculating quantities of materials and working hours on the basis of internal parameters, plans and specifications;
• calculating and monitoring cost prices, expenditure and price updates;
• supporting project monitoring, orders and file management;
• streamlining the planning process in collaboration with colleagues;
• developing your role as an in-house expert in Bouwsoft for quotations, post-project costing and stock management.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a meticulous and eager-to-learn Quantity Surveyor who enjoys taking on responsibility and feels at home in a technical environment. You combine an analytical mind with strong communication skills and enjoy bringing structure to figures, files and schedules.

We are counting on:

• a degree in a technical subject or initial relevant experience as a cost estimator;
• strong analytical and numerical skills;
• the ability to read plans and/or specifications and translate them into an accurate cost estimate;
• a basic knowledge of building materials and an interest in technical solutions for flat roofs;
• effective communication with customers, suppliers, sales staff and site managers;
• good computer skills, in particular a good working knowledge of Excel;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Bouwsoft is an advantage;
• a structured, meticulous and proactive approach to work;
• a healthy dose of motivation to learn and develop yourself further;
• a good command of Dutch, both spoken and written.
