Function

As a quantity surveyor, you are an indispensable part of the organisation and contribute to the success of the company, one of the largest construction firms in Flanders.

You will work closely with the cost estimation team and carry out a range of key responsibilities:

• Carrying out cost calculations for Class 8 construction projects following a thorough analysis of the tender specifications.
• Requesting and carefully comparing quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• In collaboration with the work planning team, consider implementation methods and possible alternatives.
• Contribute to the entire tendering process and ensure its successful completion.
• To be involved in post-project reviews at the end of the project in order to provide constructive feedback.

You will work on a wide range of projects, such as traditional tenders, construction team projects, PPP projects, design-and-build competitions and development projects. To draw up realistic quotations, you will remain closely involved in the project delivery and make regular site visits. You will be based in Wilrijk, Antwerp.

Profile

To be successful as a quantity surveyor, they are looking for candidates with the following profile:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a construction-related field.
• 0–3 years’ experience in a similar role. Motivated recent graduates are also welcome.
• Strong analytical and organisational skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of cost accounting and construction techniques is an advantage.
• A good command of spoken and written Dutch. English and/or French would be an advantage.
