Building & Utilities Manager

Function

The Building & Utilities Lead is responsible for the tactical and operational set-up and maintenance of all building, utilities and facilities activities on site, with the aim of ensuring a safe, compliant, reliable and future-proof infrastructure.

• Managing, coaching and developing the Building & Utilities and Facilities team
• Responsible for buildings, utilities, air conditioning, building security, and alarm and building management systems
• Responsible for ensuring a clear division of tasks, prioritisation and resource planning
• Ensuring the continuity, reliability and compliance of installations
• Managing Building & Utilities projects (monitoring scope, time, quality and budget)
• Actively contributing to investment applications
• Selecting, managing and evaluating suppliers and contractors
• Provide technical input on new installations and process changes
• Approving and monitoring maintenance, testing and inspection plans
• Tracking faults, fault management and corrective actions
• Overseeing and coordinating facility operations such as cleaning, pest control, workwear and site maintenance
• Ensuring order, tidiness and the general condition of the site
• Supporting change controls, CAPAs and continuous improvement
• Monitoring contracts, quotations and invoicing in accordance with the applicable guidelines
• Promoting collaboration between the Building & Utilities, Facility, Project and Operations departments

Profile

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in a technical subject or equivalent through experience
• Extensive experience in the building and utilities sector, facilities management or a technical environment (preferably in a manufacturing/GMP context)
• Project management experience is a requirement
• Management experience is a requirement
• Knowledge of change control, CAPAs and technical compliance is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of Dutch; English is an advantage
• Good knowledge of MS Office
