Location: Hamont Achel, Limburg, Belgium Specialisation: Engineering Salary: € 2.800 - € 4.200 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 39 h/week Work ritme: Day

Function

To further strengthen the Engineering team, we are looking for a motivated Project Engineering Technician. In this versatile role, you play an important part in the preparation, development, and implementation of new technical projects and process improvements.

You work closely with the Project Engineer and the Engineering team and are involved in various phases of a project: from technical preparation and documentation to testing, commissioning, and training of staff.

You get the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and practical experience, contribute ideas for improvements, and actively help to create an efficient, safe, and high-quality production environment.

As a Project Engineering Technician, you support the Project Engineer in the day-to-day follow-up and execution of technical projects. You translate technical concepts into concrete solutions and ensure that new installations, machines, and systems are prepared, tested, and implemented correctly.

Your duties will include:

  • Project support: You support the Project Engineer in the preparation, planning, execution, and follow-up of various technical projects. You independently take on certain project activities and help to monitor their progress.
  • Technical documentation: You are responsible for drawing up, adjusting, and maintaining technical documentation, including TA, BIT, BIO, CAL, and POS documents. The development of detection tests also takes place in close collaboration with Engineering.
  • Testing and validation: You provide support with technical testing and validation activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ testing. You help to verify whether new installations and systems function correctly and meet the predefined requirements.
  • FAT testing: You actively participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at machine manufacturers. Together with the parties involved, you verify whether machines and installations meet the technical specifications and project requirements.
  • Configuration of systems: You are jointly responsible for configuring, testing, and optimising inspection, print, and verify systems, ensuring they are correctly integrated into the production process.
  • Implementation and training: You support the start-up and implementation of new projects on the shop floor. You provide training to operators and other staff involved, and where necessary take on a functional leadership role.
  • Process optimisation: You look critically at existing processes, installations, and working methods. You identify potential areas for improvement and develop proposals to increase efficiency, reliability, safety, and quality. Where necessary, you call upon external specialists to do so.
  • Troubleshooting: You analyse technical problems and complex breakdowns in a structured manner. By reasoning logically and examining various solutions, you arrive at sustainable and efficient improvements.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for someone with a strong technical interest, a hands-on attitude, and the motivation to continue developing within project engineering.

  • You hold a bachelor's degree in electromechanics or electrical engineering, or are equivalent through relevant experience.
  • You preferably already have some experience as a breakdown technician, maintenance technician, or in a similar technical role within a production environment.
  • Experience within the food or pharmaceutical industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of GMP guidelines and the associated quality and documentation requirements is a welcome bonus.
  • You have a good knowledge of Dutch. Knowledge of English is important; knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • You have a basic knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • You have a strong technical insight and are able to analyse and resolve technical issues independently.
  • You work accurately and in a structured manner, and have an eye for detail.
  • You take responsibility and proactively seek out solutions.
  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy collaborating with various departments and external partners.
  • You are driven, positive, and have a constructive attitude.
  • You have a pronounced focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
