Automation Engineer
Function
The Automation Engineer plays an important role in designing, programming and optimising control systems for industrial applications. It involves working closely with colleagues to realise efficient and innovative automation solutions.
Duties and responsibilities
- Analysing technical specifications and preparing automation projects
- Development, programming and testing of PLC software (including Siemens S7 and TIA Portal)
- Programming and optimising HMI systems
- Commissioning of installations, both in the workshop and on site
- Troubleshooting and carrying out technical adjustments
- Working with communication protocols such as Profinet, Profibus and Modbus
- Following up on projects and coordinating with clients and internal teams
- Ensuring integration between software, hardware and mechanical components
- Monitoring quality, safety and compliance with standards
- Evaluate projects and suggest optimisation
Profile
- Possesses a bachelor's or master's degree in industrial automation, electromechanics or equivalent through experience
- Has a strong affinity for PLC and electrical engineering
- Can quickly process and analyse technical information
- Has knowledge of electrical schematics
- Experience with machine safety is a plus
- Has a good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
- Has good communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team
- Is customer-oriented, solution-oriented and takes initiative
- Fluent in Dutch and English
