Assistant Maintenance Manager

Location: Genk, Limburg, Belgium Specialisation: Engineering Salary: € 3.500 - € 4.000 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

As Assistant Maintenance Manager In Genk, you will ensure that technical planning runs smoothly, is realistic and is properly monitored. You will act as a key link between production, technicians and managers, and you will maintain an overview of maintenance work, staff deployment and the availability of materials and spare parts.

In this role, you will combine your organisational skills with a practical and solution-focused approach. You will be working in an industrial environment where safety, efficiency and clear communication are essential. Thanks to your structured approach and follow-up, technicians receive the right support and maintenance work proceeds according to plan.

Your main tasks:

  • Drawing up, monitoring and adjusting the technicians’ schedules.
  • Planning and coordinating maintenance work on machinery and plant.
  • Act as a link between production and the technical department.
  • Managing and supporting technicians in their day-to-day work.
  • Requesting and comparing quotations for machine parts and technical supplies.
  • Report to the person in charge and clearly communicate progress.
  • Preparing presentations and reports in PowerPoint.

You take a proactive approach, monitor priorities and ensure that agreements are honoured. In doing so, you combine accuracy with smooth collaboration, so that the technical operations on site continue to run reliably and efficiently.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a candidate with 3 to 5 years’ experience in a coordinating, planning or technical support role. You feel at home in an industrial environment and know how to balance different interests in a structured way.

Your profile:

  • You have experience in planning, coordinating or supervising technical work.
  • You communicate easily with technicians, production staff and managers.
  • You work in a structured and meticulous manner and maintain a clear overview, even when priorities change.
  • You are hands-on, solution-oriented and take the initiative where necessary.
  • You have a good knowledge of PowerPoint and, ideally, of administrative follow-up and reporting as well.
  • You can request, compare and evaluate quotes in a logical way.
  • You have an eye for safety, quality and efficiency in an industrial working environment.
  • You have strong organisational and communication skills.

A technical background or an interest in maintenance, machinery or industrial processes is an asset. You are also someone who brings a sense of calm to the planning process, thinks on your feet and takes responsibility.
