Bookkeeper Company
Function
You may find yourself mainly doing preparatory bookkeeping work today. You know you’re capable of more, but you’re not being given the chance to develop further.
Or perhaps you’re already managing the entire accounts process from A to Z, but you’re looking for a stable employer with whom you can build something great in the long term.
Whatever your starting point, our client will give you the opportunity to take on more responsibility, step by step. Not because you have to, but because they make a conscious effort to invest in someone who wants to grow with the company.
Function
At present, the organisation is still working with a freelance accountant. The aim is to develop the in-house accounting function as much as possible over the coming years. That is why they are not looking for a temporary solution, but for someone who wants to become a permanent fixture within the company in the long term.
You will start by carrying out preparatory accounting work. You will handle the day-to-day bookkeeping, ensure that everything is prepared correctly and assist with the month-end closing procedures.
During your induction period, you will work closely with the freelance accountant. He will take plenty of time to pass on his knowledge, check your work and provide guidance where necessary. This will give you every opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of the four companies, how the business operates and its processes.
Do you feel you’re ready to take the next step? If so, your responsibilities will grow too.
In due course, you will take full responsibility for the accounts yourself. The external accountant will remain available for checks and strategic advice, but you will become the main point of contact within the organisation.
Are you also interested in reporting or financial analysis? If so, you’ll have the opportunity to take the initiative in these areas. At present, this is still done on a limited basis, so you’ll be able to help shape how this develops further.
Do you already manage a full end-to-end accounting process? If so, you can, of course, take on a wider range of tasks right from the start.
Profile
You don’t have to be able to do everything just yet.
We consider it far more important that you are keen to take on responsibility and want to develop yourself further.
You’ll also recognise yourself in the following characteristics:
- You have some initial experience in accounting.
- You work accurately and in a structured way.
- You think analytically and enjoy seeing things through to a successful conclusion.
- You’ll feel at home in a hands-on environment where colleagues are happy to talk to one another.
- You’re looking for a role in which you can progress, in the long term, to handling the full range of accounting tasks from A to Z.
Are you already able to work completely independently? If so, that’s obviously a great bonus.
Organisation
Our client is a stable family-run business in the construction sector with around 120 employees, including about twenty office staff.
The organisation comprises four companies that complement one another. This means your work is varied and you gain an insight into different activities within the same group.
The culture is down-to-earth and hands-on. Colleagues help one another where necessary, and decisions are made quickly. Thanks to the flat organisational structure, lines of communication are short. Do you have a question for a colleague or a manager? Then just pop in.
Open communication is not just an empty promise, but part of our daily practice. Issues are discussed straight away, so you’re never left wondering about anything for long.
