Technical Manager (fixed-term)

As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing the technical department and work with a team of clerical staff, workers and contractors. As a true People Manager, you like to be among the employees.

Maintenance:

• Implement and embed maintenance methodologies within the organisation in collaboration with the Global Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure efficient planning and execution of machinery maintenance according to priority and instructions. Communicate and coordinate plans with production and planning.
• Analysing breakdowns and short stops to identify and fix causes.
• Address external contractors, direct and supervise their maintenance activities.
• Drawing up detailed planning. Drawing up daily management and follow-up of maintenance work.
• Keeping a balance between critical spare parts and inventory costs to minimise downtime due to missing parts.
• Ensure up-to-date information in the maintenance system.

Investment:

• Ensure timely and complete implementation of the Capex plan.
• Preparation of detailed Capex proposals and business cases.
• Capex registration and reporting.
• Monitor and forecast investments and take corrective action if necessary.

Laws and regulations:

• Ensuring that the production plant meets all legal requirements ( HV PTW, Electrical switch gear, W@H, E&I competence training, asset register, Fixed Wiring, DSEAR / ATEX, Gas / Pressure systems, Lifting Equipment, ...)

Security:

• Oversee safety within the engineering department and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Ensure safety during improvement projects and ensure that all safety risks're eliminated before a project starts.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures and guidelines within the maintenance department and for subcontractors.
• Oversee the implementation of risk analyses.

Quality and Environment:

• Ensuring short- and long-term quality and environmental efficiency of projects. Working continuously to improve the environmental impact of maintenance activities.
• Work with the HACCP team to identify and manage food safety risks'related to maintenance or investment activities.
• Maintain good 5S order in the workshop and all maintenance-related areas.

Budgets:

• Preparation of maintenance and investment budgets, as well as investment proposals.

Leadership, Employees and Organisation:

• Optimise the organisation and staffing of the department.
• Define, communicate and follow up goals and plans to employees within the department.

Member of the Management Team:

• Play an active role in the strategic planning, monitoring and development of actions within the management team to achieve the goals and vision of the plant.

• Technical degree obtained.
• Leadership experience in a maintenance and production environment.
• Thorough knowledge of maintenance and engineering.
• Ability to engage and motivate employees.
• Experience in implementing change
• Good knowledge of Dutch and English.
• Good financial literacy.
• Experience with CI/GMP/BRC HACCP production is a plus.
• A background in the food industry is a plus
