Purchasing/Purchasing Officer

Function

As Purchasing Officer, your main responsibility is to support and execute procurement activities for assigned projects. In addition, you will participate in non-project related procurement or Supply Chain procedure development as required.


Key responsibilities:


  • Manage workflow according to the procurement cycle, from supplier pre-selection to issuance of purchase orders.
  • Maintain purchase records and other essential data.
  • Estimate and set budgets for purchases.
  • Develop plans for procurement services and supplies.
  • Procurement market observation and analysis.
  • Negotiate prices and supply agreements.
  • Coordinate and support other departments with source analysis, price analysis and commercial negotiations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
  • Quickly make professional decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Evaluate and monitor suppliers.
  • Updating the list of suppliers.
  • Propose alternative suppliers and cultivate new sources of supply.
  • Perform supplier audits.
  • Focus on baseline assessment for suppliers, supplier evaluation and development, as needed.
  • Ensuring products and supplies meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete tasks.

Profile

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:


  • Ability to multitask, prioritise and manage time efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with a good understanding of negotiation procedures.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Goal-oriented and organised team player.
  • Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels.
  • Minimum several years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a technical environment.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, with knowledge of French.
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office (Excel/Word).
