Transport planner
Function
As a transport planner, you are responsible for efficiently organising, coordinating and monitoring transport activities within the groupage department of conditioned transport. You will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Set up and adjust schedules and trips based on customer orders, volumes and logistical requirements;
- Optimising routes and loading schedules with an eye on efficiency, costs and delivery reliability;
- Adjust planning in case of unforeseen circumstances (delays, changes, breakdowns);
- Managing and monitoring drivers and warehouse staff:
- Ensure clear communication on routes, loading instructions and schedules;
- Ensure compliance with legal provisions (driving and resting times, permits, safety, cow chain);
- Register and check transport documents (CMR, delivery notes, return documents);
- Signalling deviations and solving problems in cooperation with relevant departments;
- Maintain operational records and report to supervisor;
- Function as a central point of contact between customers, drivers, warehouse and internal services;
- Ensure correct information transfer between day and night shift;
- Monitor agreements with customers and identify deviations;
- Thinking about process improvements in the transport department;
- Analyse planning results and make proposals to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Profile
As a transport planner, you possess the qualities listed below for this position:
- You have analytical and planning acumen;
- You are stress-resistant am decisive;
- You have strong communication skills, both oral and written (Dutch, French, English);
- You have an eye for detail and accuracy;
- You are numerically strong and cost-conscious;
- You are responsible and flexible;
- Experience in transport is a requirement;
- Knowledge of groupage and conditioned transport is an asset.
- A bachelor's degree in logistics or business administration is also an asset
