Transport planner
Function
As a transport planner, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Organising and optimising the day-to-day planning of national and international FTL shipments (refrigerated transport);
- Adjusting the schedule and ensuring the efficient deployment of drivers, vehicles and transport partners;
- Co-ordinating transport operations from start to finish and ensuring they are carried out correctly and on time;
- Actively utilising the French transport and return freight market to make optimal use of capacity and minimise empty kilometres;
- You adapt quickly to changes, delays and operational challenges;
- You will maintain close contact with customers, drivers and transport partners and ensure smooth communication;
- You combine operational expertise with a commercial outlook: you negotiate rates, capitalise on market opportunities and monitor profitability;
- Accurate administrative tracking of transport files ensures that invoices are issued on time.
Profile
Are you the transport planner What are we looking for?
- You have experience as a transport planner or a bachelor’s degree in logistics management;
- You have experience in national and international road haulage, preferably with FTL and refrigerated transport;
- You are familiar with the French transport and returns market and are fluent in French, Dutch and English;
- You have strong organisational skills, a commercial mindset and are a tough negotiator;
- You have an analytical and solution-oriented approach and are able to maintain a clear overview in a dynamic environment;
- You are customer-focused, meticulous and take responsibility;
- You have knowledge of transport processes, the CMR and relevant transport legislation.

Our client is a logistics service provider with several branches across Europe. They provide bespoke and value-added services such as pick & pack, personalised packaging, returns management and omnichannel fulfilment.
