Technical draughtsman, Aluminium Construction

Function

We are looking for a [position] for a rapidly growing, family-run business Technical draughtsman, Aluminium Construction who helps bridge the gap between the quotation, implementation and the construction site. In this role, you will work for approximately 50% in the office and 50% on site, enabling you to monitor projects closely and translate technical details into clear implementation plans.

Your role is varied and combines draughting, technical coordination and site supervision:

• Drawing up diagrams and detailed drawings in AutoCAD.
• Collecting and processing technical data for the implementation of projects.
• Drawing up plans and implementation details in consultation with the project manager.
• Taking measurements at building contractors’, architects’ offices and on site, and translating these measurements into orders and workable solutions.
• Contributing ideas for technical and creative solutions based on specifications and consultation.
• Monitoring the schedule, orders and site preparation right through to the practical implementation.

You’ll be joining a small, open organisation where everyone works together in the same space and where short lines of communication, flexibility and responsibility are key. Experience in aluminium construction, windows and doors or a related sector is welcome, but a motivated school leaver with technical aptitude will also be given opportunities to develop here.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a technically skilled and meticulous candidate with an interest in construction and aluminium fabrication. You do not need to have years of experience, but you do need the maturity and a willingness to learn to be able to help oversee projects independently.

Your profile:

• You preferably have 3 to 5 years’ experience in a technical, construction or operational environment, or you’re a high-achieving school leaver with the right motivation.
• You have a very good knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience with windows, doors, aluminium, timber or PVC is a plus.
• You have strong technical and organisational skills, and you work with precision.
• You are able to read, analyse and translate plans into concrete implementation details with ease.
• You are willing to take on both office work and site supervision.
• You communicate fluently in the Dutch; English is more important than French, and a basic knowledge of French is a bonus.
• Knowledge of MS Office is an added value.
• You are customer-focused, take the initiative and enjoy working as part of a team.

A qualification is not the deciding factor; technical aptitude, a sense of responsibility and a practical mindset carry at least as much weight here. Experience as a foreman who has worked his way up through the ranks would certainly be a good fit for this role.
