Stability Engineer

Function

As a Stability Engineer, you will be part of the internal engineering office of our client, a Class 8 construction company based in Antwerp. You will dedicate yourself to various challenging construction projects, including new construction, renovation, Design & Build and projects according to traditional contract forms. Your work has a direct impact on the project preparation and execution of schools, offices, flats, hospitals and police stations, among others. Your responsibilities include:

• Perform stability calculations for various construction projects (concrete, steel, timber and soil mechanics) taking into account relevant standards and material properties.
• Providing construction advice to construction sites, estimating services and other stakeholders, including advice on design variants.
• Coordinating and supervising stability studies.
• Supervising modellers in the preparation of reinforcement and formwork plans.

Your workplace is in Antwerp, but you have the option of working from other offices such as Ghent, Breda, Genk or Brussels. Moreover, you will regularly visit different construction sites, which makes for a varied working environment.

Profile

Our client is open to candidates with 0 to 3 years' experience as a Stability Engineer, but is also interested in recent graduates. The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in industrial or civil engineering, or equivalent qualification
• Excellent analytical skills and strong communication abilities
• Technical knowledge of construction and an eye for detail
• Ability to speak both Dutch and English
• Ability to work independently, or willingness to develop it
