Structural Design Engineer
Function
What will your challenge be as a structural design engineer?
- Thinking along technically. You are the point of contact for geotechnical issues and support colleagues with complex technical challenges. From tender to execution and development: you think along from the very first study phase and help make plans technically viable.
- Smarter design. Together with the design manager, you calculate, review and optimise temporary and permanent structures, earth-retaining structures and foundations. You are not simply looking for a solution, but for the solution that is technically sound and practically feasible.
- Keeping lines of communication short. You continuously align with colleagues from construction and tendering, clients and engineering firms. This way you keep a grip on the planning, follow up on outstanding points and ensure everyone knows where the project stands.
- Continuing to grow. You keep your knowledge of building standards and design software sharp and enjoy going a step further in your expertise. Think of tools such as SCIA Engineer, Plaxis, IDEA StatiCa and D-Sheet Piling. You don't need to know everything already, as long as you have the drive to improve.
Profile
What do you bring?
- You hold a degree in industrial or civil engineering (construction) and have at least 3 years of relevant experience. Ideally, you have already contributed to civil or infrastructure projects, either from a construction or design perspective. No clear preference yet? No problem. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience on site and discover where your strengths lie.
- You look beyond the plan. You ask critical questions, think both technically and economically, and never lose sight of feasibility. Because a solution that looks good on paper must also simply work in practice.
- Quality is not an added extra for you, but the standard. You think alongside the client, take responsibility and only move forward when everything is right.
- You speak and write Dutch fluently. You can also get by sufficiently in French to follow up on projects in northern France.
Organisation
Working hard, winning together and occasionally just having fun.
From sporting challenges to legendary team parties: the atmosphere with these colleagues is great.
And in terms of content? No need to be bored there either. Buildings, hydraulic engineering, techniques, steel construction, restoration, petrochemistry and much more.
You get the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, together with people who know how to get things done.
Does this sound like your kind of environment? Then it is time to get acquainted.
