Vacancy

Stability Engineer

Location: Nazareth-Eke, East Flanders, Belgium Salary: € 2.800 - € 4.200 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

Your duties will include:

  • As a structural engineer within the internal engineering department, you work on structural studies for a diverse range of construction and infrastructure projects, with attention to concrete, steel and soil mechanics.
  • You translate complex technical challenges into safe, executable and economically sound solutions that find their way directly to the site.
  • In consultation with site teams, you develop both permanent and temporary auxiliary structures and explore alternative execution methods when these improve planning, safety or efficiency.
  • The guidance and substantive review of external design offices falls within your responsibility. You monitor technical quality and ensure that calculations and plans align with the reality of execution.
  • Consultation with clients, subcontractors and internal partners is part of your role. You clearly explain calculation choices and execution methods and help build supported solutions.
  • Within the structural team, you mentor colleagues with less experience and support draughtsmen in developing execution, formwork and reinforcement plans. You also carefully carry out the review of these drawings.
  • Alongside project work, you think along about optimisations of processes and working methods. This not only enhances the quality of individual projects, but also the technical strength of the engineering department.

Profile

Who are you?

  • A master's degree in civil engineering as a civil or industrial engineer forms the technical foundation for this role.
  • You bring approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in structural design. Experience with civil structures such as bridges, tunnels or tanks is a strong asset.
  • You use relevant calculation software and common PC applications with ease. You work accurately and thoroughly check your results, because small details can have a significant impact on safety and execution.
  • You combine a critical eye with creativity: you explore alternatives, question existing solutions and seek constructive answers to complex problems.
  • You communicate clearly with clients, colleagues, draughtsmen and site teams. Resilience under pressure, ownership and a collaborative attitude help you to connect different interests.

Organisation

Our client is a people-centred organisation where collegiality, open communication and collaboration are at the heart of everything. Different areas of expertise are brought together to successfully deliver complex construction and infrastructure projects. Within the internal design department, you work closely with the execution teams and have a direct link with the reality on site. This means technical solutions are not limited to calculations and plans, but become visible in concrete projects. From day one, you go through a thorough onboarding process, so you quickly find your feet within the organisation and can build a strong internal network. You are part of a driven team that is fully committed to quality and results. At the same time, there is room for relaxation and connection, with activities that strengthen team spirit. Professional development also receives attention through internal and external training opportunities.

Offer

What can you expect?

  • You receive an attractive and market-competitive salary that takes your experience and technical expertise into account.
  • On top of that, you receive a comprehensive package of fringe benefits.
  • You work from the office location in the Ghent area and from there maintain direct collaboration with the engineering department, site teams and external partners.
  • A thorough onboarding process helps you to quickly gain insight into the operations, projects and colleagues involved.
  • Through internal and external training, you continue to deepen your technical knowledge and develop further.
  • The people-oriented work environment offers room for open communication, collegial collaboration and relaxation.
  • Team activities strengthen the connection without losing focus on quality and results.
