SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER, BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEERING

Function

As Senior Project Engineer, Building Services Engineering You will play a key role in the development and implementation of complex studies and projects within building services engineering. You will design systems with a focus on comfort, sustainability and technical quality, whilst also monitoring the feasibility, scheduling and cost-effectiveness of each project.

You will work independently on projects from the preliminary design stage through to operation, and manage project teams in terms of both technical and project-related matters. In doing so, you will act as the technical point of contact for BIM modellers, construction partners and fellow engineers, and also take on a coaching role for junior project engineers.

• Carrying out technical studies and preparing designs for building services.
• Designing solutions with a focus on comfort, energy efficiency and sustainability.
• Independently managing projects and monitoring scope, timing, quality and budget.
• Providing technical and project-based leadership to internal project teams.
• Work actively alongside BIM modellers and utilise digital tools to ensure an efficient approach.
• To ensure the smooth running of the construction site and act as the point of contact for construction partners.
• Completing studies and projects accurately and efficiently, whilst keeping an eye on cost-effectiveness.
• Mentoring and training junior project engineers.
• Reports to the BU Director.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong technical background, a broad project-based perspective and the maturity to manage complex projects independently. You feel at home in an environment where quality, consultation and responsibility go hand in hand, and you are able to switch effortlessly between design, coordination and on-site supervision.

• You have a qualification Master’s in Industrial Engineering or civil engineer.
• You have a 10 years’ relevant experience in the field of building services engineering or a closely related technical project environment.
• You have a strong technical understanding and work to a high professional standard.
• You are able to work independently and in a structured manner, even when several projects are running simultaneously.
• You’ll maintain a clear overview, set priorities and make decisions with confidence.
• You have experience with standard software packages and an affinity for BIM-environments and digital drawing packages.
• You communicate clearly with colleagues, construction partners and clients.
• You have a coaching mindset and see sharing your knowledge with less experienced colleagues as a matter of course.
• You are willing to play an active part in site monitoring and project meetings.
