Function

As Site manager road construction at Stabroek You’ll be the key figure on site, ensuring that road construction projects are carried out efficiently, safely and to a high standard. You’ll combine day-to-day supervision with a strong organisational skills, coordinating teams, schedules, materials and subcontractors. Thanks to your overview and presence on site, you monitor progress, quickly resolve practical challenges and ensure that the work meets the agreed standards and deadlines.

Your duties will include:

• Coordinating and monitoring day-to-day site activities.
• Managing workers, foremen and subcontractors.
• Monitoring scheduling, efficiency, quality and safety.
• Coordinating the works with internal teams, suppliers and clients.
• Identifying and resolving technical or operational issues.
• Accurately reporting on progress and maintaining site documentation.
• Helping to monitor materials, equipment and deliveries.
• Actively contributing ideas on more efficient working methods and improvements on site.

You will be working in an environment where technical expertise, responsibility and teamwork are key. You will be expected to have the confidence to make decisions independently, whilst communicating clearly and always prioritising safety, quality and a structured approach to implementation. Through a combination of hands-on work on site and close collaboration with colleagues, you’ll contribute directly to the success of every project

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a site manager with experience in road construction, civil engineering or a similar construction environment. You have sufficient practical experience to manage day-to-day operations on a site independently and feel at home in a role involving a high level of responsibility and variety.

We generally expect the following profile:

• You hold a degree in a technical subject, preferably civil engineering, road construction or an equivalent level of experience.
• You have relevant experience in site supervision, project delivery or managing teams.
• You have a good understanding of technical matters and are able to interpret plans, implementation details and working methods correctly.
• You communicate fluently and professionally with the various parties involved.
• You’re good at organising, setting priorities and solving problems.
• You have an eye for safety, quality and efficient site organisation.
• You’re flexible and not daunted by a dynamic working environment.
• You are digitally literate and open to modern tools and innovative applications.
• You have a driving licence B.

Experience in leadership, planning tools or technical reporting is an advantage. More importantly, you take ownership, know how to get people on board and, with a hands-on approach, contribute to the smooth and high-quality delivery of projects.
