Project Manager

Function

For our client, a dynamic Belgian SME with a strong international client portfolio and proven expertise in high-tech powder processing machinery, we are looking for a Project Manager. You will work on innovative R&D projects for machinery in sectors including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food and chemicals on a daily basis. In this role, you will combine project management, technical coordination and client liaison in an environment where no-nonsense collaboration and a hands-on approach are key. You will join a small team of versatile engineers and take on a varied range of responsibilities in which you will play a key role both internally and externally.

Your responsibilities:

• You are the first point of contact for the customer and, in collaboration with the Production Manager, monitor the progress of standard machines.
• You will coordinate in good time regarding deliveries, technical requirements and the practical preparations at the customer’s premises prior to installation.
• You will be responsible for internal quality control, calibrations and project documentation, and will also carry out these tasks yourself where necessary.
• You will oversee the handover of machinery together with the customer during the factory acceptance test (FAT), and helps to organise handover, installation and on-site training, sometimes abroad.
• For more complex projects, you will be the point of contact from start to finish: you will be involved from the RFQ stage, contribute ideas based on the specifications (URS), develop engineering solutions and liaise with clients and suppliers.
• You will monitor projects closely right through to installation and remain involved in the follow-up work thereafter.
• You will support the after-sales service by providing technical assistance and drawing up quotations for spare parts and services.

Profile

We are looking for someone for this role our client A Project Manager with a technical background and, ideally, several years’ relevant experience. You do not need to come from a specific sector, but you must be comfortable working in a technical, project-based and customer-focused environment.

Your profile:

• You hold an engineering degree.
• You have several years’ work experience in a technical or project-based role.
• You are pragmatic, hands-on and solution-oriented.
• You work in a structured manner and maintain a clear overview, even when several projects are running simultaneously.
• You are customer-focused and communicate easily with both internal colleagues and external partners.
• You are a strong team player, but you can also take responsibility and work independently.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• You’ll feel at home in a transparent, flexible and flat organisation with short lines of communication.
• Travelling abroad – which takes up around 15% of your time spread throughout the year – is no problem for you.
• Knowledge of Siemens PLC programming would be an advantage.
• Experience in engineering within the pharmaceutical industry is a great asset.

You are someone who takes responsibility, picks up technical concepts quickly and is keen to play a part in the success of every project, from the initial enquiry through to installation and after-sales support.

Since January 2021, they have been based in the Lokeren region, together with their sister company.
