Project Manager

Function

As Project Manager You will manage projects from the quotation stage right through to handover, and act as the main point of contact for clients, architects and engineering firms. You will work on a wide range of projects within the commercial and industrial sectors, with assignments ranging from new builds and extensions to refurbishments and emergency repairs.

You translate the client’s requirements into a clear and achievable plan, monitor the schedule and ensure that the correct materials are ordered in good time. You create or amend plans and diagrams in AutoCAD 2D, monitors the construction sites in collaboration with the site manager and keeps a close eye on progress, quality and communication.

Your responsibilities will include:

• preparing and following up on quotations and commercial dossiers;
• holding discussions with clients and construction partners;
• drawing up and adapting plans and schedules for operational staff;
• planning the works and coordinating material orders with the site schedule;
• monitoring ongoing projects, progress reports, invoices and monthly settlements;
• submitting as-built documentation and helping to ensure that the handover is carried out correctly and in full;
• actively participate in the weekly planning meeting and communicate clearly on the current status;
• Managing your own diary, paying close attention to deadlines, ongoing cases and internal meetings.

The projects span a wide range of electrical engineering fields, including medium-voltage, low-voltage, switchboard construction, fire detection, home automation, access control, data cabling and fibre-optic installations.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a professional with strong organisational and communication skills, with at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in project monitoring, site coordination or a similar technical environment. You value structure, are able to set clear priorities and feel at ease when liaising with clients, internal colleagues and external partners.

You will need to bring:

• a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent technical background, preferably in electrical engineering, electrical systems, automation or construction;
• experience in coordinating projects from preparation through to completion;
• a good working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D or a willingness to get to grips with this quickly;
• strong organisational skills and meticulous monitoring of planning, budgeting and administration;
• a customer-focused and professional communication style;
• the ability to work independently, whilst keeping the team in mind;
• a practical mindset and sufficient technical aptitude to interpret plans, diagrams and implementation details correctly;
• Experience in drawing up statements of claims, invoices or project accounts would be an advantage;
• a good knowledge of Dutch; knowledge of other languages is an advantage.

You are able to cope well with stress, have a solution-oriented mindset and can maintain a clear overview even in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and accuracy are important, as is the ability to switch easily between several projects at once.

Organisation

You will be working in a collegial and dynamic working environment with a versatile clientele. The projects are mainly situated within the tertiary sector, such as schools, residential care centres, care institutions, offices, showrooms and industrial environments. The files include new construction and extensions as well as interventions and depannages, within a wide range of electrotechnical domains: from medium and low voltage to sign construction, fire detection, home automation, access control, data cabling and fibre optic installations.
