Location: Brussels, Brussels, Belgium Specialisation: Construct Engineering Salary: € 3.300 - € 4.800 bruto / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

As Project Manager In Brussels, you will take the lead on challenging construction projects whose scale and complexity require a structured approach, technical expertise and strong stakeholder management. You will be responsible for the overall management of the project, from preparation through to handover, whilst continuously monitoring the schedule, budget, quality and safety.

In this role, you will work closely with internal teams, subcontractors, engineering firms and clients. You will translate the project objectives into a feasible implementation plan and lead the on-site team in a clear and collaborative manner. You will maintain an overview, anticipate risks and adapt quickly when the situation demands it.

  • You will organise and coordinate the entire project process, from start-up through to handover.
  • You will oversee the schedule, progress, budgets and quality standards.
  • You liaise with the procurement, engineering and site management teams, as well as external partners, to ensure the project runs smoothly.
  • You will actively monitor the construction site and ensure that work is carried out safely, in an orderly manner and productively.
  • You maintain clear communication with all parties involved and keep track of the client’s expectations.
  • You identify bottlenecks in good time and devise effective solutions to keep the project on track.
  • You focus on collaboration, responsibility and results, whilst taking people, the environment and sustainability into account.

You’ll have the opportunity to help build projects that have a visible impact on the streetscape, and where your experience will directly contribute to high-quality, forward-looking implementation.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced project manager with a solid background in the construction sector and, preferably, experience of large, complex projects. You feel at home in an environment where planning, technical coordination and people management come together, and you know how to keep various stakeholders on the same page.

  • You have at least 5 years’ relevant experience as a project manager, site manager or in a similar operational role within the construction industry.
  • You have experience with medium-sized to large-scale construction projects; experience with projects from class 8 upwards is a strong advantage.
  • You have a strong affinity for design-and-build projects and for a mix of private and public commissions.
  • You communicate fluently and professionally with internal teams, clients, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
  • You have strong organisational skills, work in a systematic manner and are able to maintain an overview of complex cases.
  • You take responsibility, manage people in a respectful and clear manner, and are not afraid to make decisions.
  • You are flexible in terms of travel and willing to work regularly at different sites, depending on the projects.
  • You have a good knowledge of Dutch; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
  • You are pragmatic, solution-oriented and enjoy working in an environment where collaboration and professionalism go hand in hand.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent experience is desirable, but it is above all your proven expertise, maturity and leadership skills that make the difference.

Organisation

Our client is a well-established player and trendsetter within the Belgian construction sector. As part of a dynamic, growing organisation, where various independent companies have come together to form a single integrated team, you’ll have every opportunity to develop and innovate together. Innovation, collaboration and respect for people and the environment are of the utmost importance to them – sustainability, integrity and a lasting impact on the streetscape are not just empty words, but daily priorities. Employees are given the trust, the freedom and the tools to further develop their talents. Whether you’re working on challenging design-and-build projects or private or public tenders, every colleague contributes to a success story in which expertise is constantly reinforced by teamwork.

Offer

You can look forward to an attractive remuneration package in line with market rates, complemented by a wide range of benefits befitting a responsible and experienced project manager. In this role, you will not only be given trust and autonomy, but also the resources you need to carry out your work effectively and comfortably.

  • A competitive salary, commensurate with your experience and responsibilities.
  • With your company car, you can easily travel between the various projects.
  • A canteen scheme that allows you to put together part of your remuneration package flexibly.
  • Opportunities for career progression within a stable and growing group.
  • A professional yet warm and welcoming working environment where collaboration is key.
  • Opportunities for training, knowledge-sharing and further development in your field.
  • Projects with substance, a visible impact and a significant technical challenge.

You will be working in an organisation that is committed to trust, responsibility and sustainable growth, with a focus on both results and workability.
