Infrastructure Projects Engineer

Location: Puurs-sint-amands, Antwerp, Belgium Specialisation: Construct Engineering Salary: € 2.500 - € 4.000 gross / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

As Infrastructure engineer you will help with the design and monitoring of infrastructure projects in Puurs. You combine technical precision with on-site coordination and support projects from concept to completion.

In this role, you will take on a wide range of responsibilities across a variety of projects for government bodies, cities, local authorities and clients in the utilities and water sectors. Depending on your experience, you will either take on a more leadership-focused role as a designer/project manager or contribute to the further development of projects under supervision.

Your responsibilities may include, amongst other things:

  • helping to initiate and develop infrastructure designs from the very first phase;
  • coordinating with stakeholders and preparing and chairing meetings;
  • draw up technical plans yourself or supervise a draughtsman;
  • helping to monitor licence applications and administrative project stages;
  • monitoring the work through site visits, site meetings and quality control;
  • monitor contractors’ progress and make adjustments where necessary;
  • to contribute to projects that have a significant impact on public spaces and infrastructure.

You’ll find yourself in an environment where technical excellence, practical support and clear communication go hand in hand. Depending on your profile, you’ll be given the opportunity to work independently and take on responsibility within challenging infrastructure projects.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an infrastructure engineer with 3 to 5 years’ experience. A course such as surveyor, civil engineer or Bachelor’s degree holder with relevant experience is well suited to this role.

We are looking for someone who is strong in both technical and communication skills and can switch easily between design, consultation and implementation.

You recognise yourself in the following:

  • you have a background in civil engineering, surveying or a similar technical discipline;
  • you can help to draw up and carry out technical assessments of infrastructure plans;
  • you communicate easily with stakeholders, contractors and clients;
  • you enjoy taking the initiative and can help prepare or chair meetings;
  • you are meticulous in following up on plans, permits and implementation details;
  • you feel at ease on site and monitor quality and progress;
  • you work in a structured way and maintain an overview of several projects at the same time;
  • Knowledge of design and drawing software is an advantage.

A hands-on approach, a sense of responsibility and a willingness to help build public infrastructure projects are more important than a perfectly defined career path. School leavers with the right academic background and strong motivation may also be considered.

Organisation

In addition, this role offers a professional environment in which you can develop your skills in design, project management and site coordination.

What to expect:

  • a competitive salary in line with your experience and expertise;
  • a role offering a variety of tasks ranging from design and consultation to implementation;
  • opportunity for career progression within infrastructure and project management;
  • a context involving projects for public and socially relevant clients;
  • a location in Puurs-Sint-Amands;
  • a role in which independence and responsibility are key.
