Freight forwarder Import

Function

As an Import Forwarding Agent, you are responsible for the end-to-end management of import consignments. You ensure that all files are processed correctly and on time, and act as the point of contact for customers and logistics partners.

Your responsibilities:

• Management and tracking of import consignments from start to finish.
• Handling the relevant customs formalities and ensuring full compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain daily contact with customers, shipping companies, hauliers and other logistics partners.
• Correct processing of transport documents and administrative files.
• Proactively identifying and resolving operational issues.
• Actively contributing ideas on process optimisation and efficiency improvements within the department.
• Ensuring that goods are delivered on time and correctly.

Profile

• At least 5 years’ experience as an import forwarder or in a similar role.
• A good understanding of international logistics processes and customs formalities.
• Fluency in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is an advantage.
• Experience with MS Office. Knowledge of Cargosoft, EDI or CargoWise is a strong asset.
• You are analytical, meticulous and have strong organisational skills.
• You take the initiative and think in a solution-oriented way.
