Freight forwarder Import

Function

As an import freight forwarder in Antwerp, you are responsible for the entire process of import consignments:

• Management of import shipment files from start to finish.
• You will be responsible for your own portfolio of SME clients.
• Handling customs formalities.
• Checking tariffs, commodity codes and customs procedures.
• Co-ordinating inspections and physical checks at customs posts.

You will focus primarily on excise goods and food products, which will give you the opportunity to specialise further in these areas. Under the supervision of the assistant forwarding manager, you will work alongside a support team. All of this takes place within a dynamic working environment where expertise, customer focus and innovation are key.

Profile

Who would our client like to welcome to the team?

• A bachelor’s degree in 'Logistics Management' or 'Supply Chain".
• You are keen to learn and constantly curious about how to improve.
• Can work in accordance with AEO procedures and helps to ensure compliance with them.
• You are service-oriented, both towards customers and towards teams and internal departments.
• You have an interest in freight forwarding and enjoy working with people from around the world.
• Works accurately whilst maintaining an overview.
• You are hands-on, results-oriented and proactive.
• Communicates fluently in Dutch and English.
• It’s a big plus if you speak other languages such as French, are a real team player but can also work independently.
• The location cannot be reached by public transport, so you will need your own transport.

For the Antwerp office – and more specifically for the subsidiary responsible for the group’s ‘forwarding’ activities – we are looking for a Junior Import Forwarder. The brand-new office and adjoining 9,000 m² warehouse are situated in a sustainable location on the former site of Petroleum Zuid.
