Function

As an HVAC estimator, you are responsible for preparing and drawing up quotations for technical projects in the fields of heating, ventilation and air conditioning. You analyse the client’s requirements and assess which materials, techniques and labour hours are required in order to arrive at a well-founded cost estimate.

You will work independently, but will be in constant contact with various internal and external partners. You will liaise with the sales department and the work planning team to ensure that technical and commercial information is correctly aligned.

In addition, you will take on a mentoring role within the team. You will support an administrative assistant and share your technical knowledge with colleagues.

Your responsibilities as an HVAC estimator:

• Drawing up budgets, cost estimates and quotations for HVAC installations and technical projects.
• Carrying out technical calculations for heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems.
• Analysing tender documents, plans and technical specifications.
• Translating customer enquiries into a feasible technical and financial solution.
• Determining the materials required, man-hours and completion times.
• Maintaining contact with customers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Tracking costs and monitoring project budgets.
• Collaborating with sales, production planning and other technical departments.
• Act as the technical point of contact for colleagues.
• Supervising and supporting an administrative assistant.

Profile

For this vacancy, we are looking for an experienced technical assistant with a keen interest in HVAC and cost estimation.

You recognise yourself in the following profile:

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in electromechanics or air conditioning, or have equivalent experience.
• You have experience as an HVAC cost estimator or in a similar technical role.
• You have a good understanding of technical matters and an interest in HVAC systems.
• You have experience with HVAC calculations and/or cost estimation software.
• You are able to analyse technical information and translate it into a clear quotation.
• You work accurately, independently and in a structured manner.
• You communicate easily with customers, suppliers, subcontractors and colleagues.
• You take responsibility and are not afraid to share your technical expertise.
• You have strong administrative skills and an eye for detail.
