Function

What is expected of you?

• As Head of Estimating, you bear ultimate responsibility for the entire estimating process.
• You translate price enquiries into technically substantiated, feasible and commercially strong quotations.
• You manage an estimating team of four colleagues, distribute workloads and safeguard the quality, completeness and timely delivery of quotations.
• In close collaboration with sales, project management, purchasing and production, you align technical starting points, material choices, planning and cost prices.
• You analyse existing cost price models, work with relevant technical and financial data and ensure a reliable foundation for every quotation.
• You strengthen the department's operations by improving processes, tools and reporting in a targeted manner.
• Drawing on your expertise, you help build a professional estimating department where knowledge is shared, employees grow and collaboration with other teams runs smoothly.

Profile

Who are you?

• You have a technical or analytical background.
• You have strong analytical skills and hold a master's degree.
• You bring 5 to 10 years of experience in estimating, tender preparation or cost price calculation within construction, metalworking or joinery.
• You combine strong numerical insight with commercial awareness: you understand not only how a price is determined, but also which choices make a quotation feasible and attractive.
• You use Excel fluently and accurately to structure data, verify calculations and clearly substantiate insights.
• Experience with estimating tools or ERP software is an advantage.
• You communicate clearly and act in a connecting manner. This is important for coaching colleagues, aligning expectations with internal partners and discussing technical information in an accessible way with clients or commercial contacts.
