Freight forwarder
Function
As a freight forwarder, you will bear full responsibility for managing import and export files from A to Z within your own client portfolio. Through your experience, you act as a valuable sparring partner for both customers and colleagues. You ensure that both import and export shipments are handled smoothly, correctly and cost-efficiently.
Your work will be varied and challenging:
- Coordinating transport flows.
- Carefully processing transport and customs documents.
- Monitoring deadlines, costs and quality standards.
- Acting as a central link between customers, shipping companies, carriers, customs services, warehouses and internal departments.
- Proactively advising customers on transport solutions, regulations and possible optimisations.
Moreover, you are the first point of contact for your customers and ensure that they are served professionally and efficiently.
Profile
For this position, we are looking for an enthusiastic professional who meets the following criteria:
- Preferably at least 3 years' experience as an import/export forwarder
- Extensive knowledge of international transport flows and a firm grounding in customs formalities and documentation.
- An independent approach with full responsibility for your files.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work solution-oriented with various stakeholders.
- Switch easily in a dynamic working environment where challenges are seen as opportunities.
- Excellent command of Dutch and English, with an extra edge if you speak French.
- Practical attitude and no typical 9-to-5 mentality.
- Committed and ambitious, with an eye for quality and achieving results.
- The drive to continuously develop yourself and grow within the field.
- Demonstrated experience in full administration of import/export files (from A to Z).
