Finance and Administration Officer
Function
As a Finance & Administration Officer, you will be responsible for the accounts independently. You are therefore not simply a support role, but will actually be in charge of the financial administration.
- You will be responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping and will ensure that it is processed correctly and on time.
- You will process purchase and sales invoices, bank transactions and financial reconciliations.
- You monitor customer and supplier balances and cash flow.
- You will be responsible for the financial month-ends and ensuring accurate reporting.
- You draw up budgets and monitor their implementation closely.
- You analyse costs, margins and cash flow, and translate these figures into clear insights.
- You will keep the financial plan up to date and support management in investment and growth decisions.
- You will act as the point of contact for the external auditor and ensure that the collaboration runs smoothly.
- You’ll play an active part in coming up with ideas on how to make financial processes more efficient and effective.
- You play a key role in the transition from Ridder iQ to Odoo.
- You will help to ensure the new ERP system is implemented in a financially sound manner and further optimised.
- Where necessary, you will provide support with grant and funding applications and other financial matters.
- You will occasionally help out with administrative tasks within the SME.
You’ll therefore be involved in a combination of independent bookkeeping, financial analysis and process optimisation, with the opportunity to see your role grow alongside the business.
Profile
For this role, we are not looking for someone whose main focus is on providing support. We are looking for someone who can manage the accounts independently whilst also thinking ahead.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in finance or accountancy, or have equivalent experience.
- You have enough experience to take charge of the accounts independently.
- You have a good understanding of general accounting and feel confident dealing with financial closings and reporting.
- You have experience with an ERP and/or accounting package. Experience with Odoo or a similar modern ERP system is a strong asset.
- Experience with ERP implementation, migration or optimisation is an advantage.
- You are proficient in Excel and, ideally, have experience with Power BI.
- You are analytical and meticulous, and you know how to turn financial data into useful insights.
- You work independently and in a structured manner, and take responsibility for your own work.
- You’re a hands-on person and enjoy contributing ideas on how to improve processes.
- You communicate easily with colleagues, management and the external auditor.
- You speak and write Dutch and English fluently. A good knowledge of French would be an advantage.
- You’ll feel at home in a growing SME where initiative is valued and not everything is set in stone.
Organisation
You will be joining a growing and innovative company that specialises in the manufacture and sale of machinery for the agricultural sector. Based in West Flanders, a close-knit team is working to drive further growth and development.
This is a genuine SME with short lines of communication. You’ll have direct contact with management, and your contribution will be evident in the day-to-day running of the business.
The organisation is also in the process of becoming increasingly professional. For example, a major ERP transition from Ridder iQ to Odoo is in the pipeline. Drawing on your financial expertise, you will have the opportunity to play an active role in this and help build a more efficient financial operation.
Offer
You’ll take on a wide-ranging finance role in which you won’t be on the sidelines, but will take on responsibility yourself and help shape the future of our financial operations.
- An independent role in which you will be fully responsible for the accounts.
- A key role in the transition from Ridder iQ to Odoo.
- Opportunities to improve and further professionalise financial processes.

- Full-time employment, 39 hours per week.
- 20 leave days + 6 ADV days.
- Occasional working from home is possible.
- A dynamic working environment with short lines of communication and plenty of scope for initiative.
