Experienced Transport Planner

Function

• You will be responsible for the day-to-day route planning for our own drivers and external transport partners, ensuring, in your role as a dispatcher, that they are deployed efficiently and optimally.
• You are proficient in using planning tools and ensure that drivers have all the necessary documents and correct instructions in good time.
• You will oversee the logistics processes both within and outside the department, anticipate changes and make adjustments where necessary to ensure a smooth service.
• Thanks to your flexibility, ability to improvise and systematic approach, you are able to set the right priorities even in unexpected situations.
• As a key member of our operational team, you’ll take the initiative, contribute ideas on process improvements and play an active part in making our operations more efficient.
• You share your knowledge and experience with colleagues and support them in their development, so that the whole team can grow.

Profile

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in logistics or a related field.
• You think logically, react quickly and keep a clear overview, even when unexpected situations arise.
• You have several years’ experience as a transport planner, dispatcher or in a similar logistics role.
• You have an excellent command of Dutch and can express yourself fluently in English. Knowledge of French would be a great asset.
• You are proficient in using MS Office and have a good knowledge of Excel.
• You have strong organisational skills, work in a structured manner and are able to plan efficiently.
• You are assertive, able to cope well with stress and good at setting priorities in a dynamic working environment.
• You are willing to work a two-shift system (06.00 – 14.00 and 14.00 – 22.00) and take part in a rota for weekend work. On average, you will work one in every four weekends: on Saturdays from 06.00 to 14.00 and on Sundays from 09.00 to 17.00.
