Engineering Coordinator

Function

As Engineering Coordinator You act as the link between the design consultancy and the technicians on the shop floor. You ensure that technical projects are carried out smoothly, in a structured manner and in accordance with the agreed quality standards. In doing so, you monitor the schedule, closely track progress and liaise daily with internal and external stakeholders.

In this role, you will contribute to projects within the production environment and across the wider group. You will therefore be dealing with a varied technical landscape, where mechanical and electrical issues intersect. Together with your fellow coordinator and the engineering manager, you will ensure effective follow-up, clear communication and a safe, tidy and efficient workplace.

Your responsibilities:

• Drawing up, monitoring and adjusting the project schedule and team schedule
• Co-ordinating the implementation of technical projects in accordance with the schedule, agreements and specifications
• Act as the point of contact between the design agency and the engineers
• Identifying, compiling and providing feedback on areas for mechanical and electrical improvement to the design team
• Providing coaching support to technicians in their technical and personal development
• Monitoring quality, productivity, safety, order and tidiness in the workplace
• Facilitating smooth collaboration between internal departments and external partners
• Contributing ideas on process improvements and technical optimisations
• Occasional planning and carrying out of travel abroad in connection with projects

You will take on an active, leadership role within the technical team, whilst also excelling at follow-up, coordination and building support. You feel at home in an environment where technology, structure and collaboration are key.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for an experienced technical coordinator with a solid background in engineering, production or industrial project management. You combine technical knowledge with organisational skills and communicate clearly with a range of audiences, from designers to technicians on the shop floor. You work in a structured manner, maintain an overview of complex projects and know how to set clear priorities without losing sight of the human aspect.

Your profile:

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field, such as electromechanics, mechanics, electronics or an equivalent level of experience
• You have 5 to 10 years’ relevant experience in engineering, industrial coordination, project management or a technical production environment
• You have a solid grounding in mechanical and/or electrical engineering
• You can plan, monitor and make adjustments whilst keeping an eye on quality, timing and efficiency
• You communicate fluently and professionally in Dutch; knowledge of other languages is an advantage
• You have a coaching mindset and know how to lead a technical team in a positive way
• You work with attention to detail, take the initiative and remain calm when priorities change
• You have a hands-on approach and feel at home on the shop floor
• You are willing to travel occasionally as part of projects

Experience of industrial production environments, technical documentation, optimisation projects or working with international stakeholders is an asset. School leavers with exceptionally strong technical knowledge and the relevant qualification may also be considered in some cases, but for this role the emphasis is clearly on experience and technical expertise.
