Customs declarant

Function

As a customs clerk, you will have the following duties;

• Preparation, checking and/or forwarding of customs documents, administration and communication with relevant customers and services;
• Preparation, follow-up and handling of customs files;
• This role regularly combines with scheduling transport for the end customer;
• Preparing work for current and future days, proactively addressing any operational challenges
• Communication to this end with relevant internal and external departments (blocking and release of goods);
• Security;
• You are expected to follow safety rules (incl. always wearing PPE at terminals);
• Attention to careful work and understanding your role in the whole;
• Daring to take initiative for improvements;
• Thinking along and helping to implement structural improvements that make work easier and more efficient

Profile

As a customs clerk, you can tick off the following items:

• Training in logistics management or equivalent through experience;
• Sound and proven experience in a customs technical position;
• Knowledge of local regulations, customs, VAT and excise, incoterms;
• Knowledge of toll documents, tariffs, goods nomenclature, customs certificates;
• Knowledge of preparation of customs clearance and clearance of goods;
• Excellent knowledge of TARBEL, NCTS, PLDA and tax representation;
• You have a good knowledge of NL/ENG/FR, knowledge of DUI is a nice plus;
• Accurate and precise person, working flexibly and professionally;
• Willing to undergo further training (including in the context of AEO certification).
