Customs Officer

Function

You will join a driven customs team where cooperation is key. Together, you ensure that all customs formalities are carried out correctly, efficiently and in accordance with the applicable regulations. Thanks to your efforts, goods stay on the move - without delays or worries.

What will you do?

• You check customer data for completeness and correctness so that customs documents can be prepared without errors
• You prepare customs declarations for Belgium and the UK and follow them up closely until release
• You detect errors or discrepancies in master data and declarations and ensure a quick and correct solution
• You monitor the quality of data via targeted checks and keep an overview at all times
• You will monitor both manual and automated processes and intervene where necessary
• In exceptional situations, apply the appropriate emergency procedure
• You communicate professionally with customers and maintain smooth contacts with customs authorities

Profile

Who are you?

• You are someone who likes to take responsibility and loves to handle things correctly down to the last detail
• You have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent through experience
• Knowledge of customs and excise legislation is a great asset
• you communicate fluently in Dutch and English
• You are analytical, critical and dare to speak your mind
• Accuracy and structure characterise your way of working
• You have an affinity with systems and automation
• You work efficiently and remain result-oriented, even in new or changing situations
