Construction Planner

Location: Brecht, Antwerp, Belgium Specialisation: Construct Engineering Salary: € 3.000 - € 5.000 bruto / month Contracttype: Indefinite time Hours: 40 hrs/week Work ritme: Day

Function

As a Planner, you are the central point of contact within the site organisation. You ensure that the right teams, materials, documents and information come together at the right time, so that projects run smoothly and efficiently. In an environment where screed, concrete and floor insulation projects range from terraces to prisons, your meticulous monitoring is essential to keeping the schedule tight and achievable.

In practical terms, this means you’ll be liaising on a daily basis with internal teams, site managers, labourers, subcontractors and clients. You’ll monitor the progress of the schedule, anticipate changes and maintain an overview, even when several projects are running simultaneously.

Your range of tasks:

  • You schedule the shifts based on the site, staffing levels, the number of working hours required and priorities.
  • You will organise the necessary materials and transport to ensure that each site can get underway on time.
  • You must provide all relevant information accurately and in a timely manner to site managers, workers and subcontractors.
  • You will ensure that the site documents are prepared fully and correctly.
  • You will monitor subcontractors’ invoicing and flag up any discrepancies where necessary.
  • You will be the main point of contact for day-to-day coordination and will adjust the schedule where necessary.
  • You will maintain close contact with all parties involved by telephone so that you can respond quickly.
  • You’ll contribute ideas on how to ensure an efficient organisation and smooth collaboration in the workplace.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for a Planner with 3 to 5 years’ experience who can bring structure to a dynamic environment. Experience in the construction sector is a strong asset, but not an absolute requirement. More importantly, you must have strong administrative skills, be able to maintain an overview, and communicate effectively with the various stakeholders.

You are able to cope well with stress, think in terms of solutions and remain calm when priorities change rapidly. You are not put off by frequent telephone contact; on the contrary, you feel comfortable in a role where coordination and follow-up are key. In addition, you work meticulously, set priorities in a well-considered manner and take responsibility within the planning process.

Your profile:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in planning, administration or coordination.
  • You have relevant work experience.
  • You have strong organisational skills and are able to manage several projects at the same time.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally, both internally and externally.
  • You are able to cope with stress and keep a clear head under pressure.
  • You’re confident on the phone and don’t shy away from a lot of coordination.
  • You speak and understand enough English to communicate fluently with various parties.
  • You work independently, but you also work well as part of a team.
  • You have an eye for detail and are meticulous in your administrative work and follow-up.

Organisation

Our client is an expert in Chape and concrete floors. They also have their specialisation in floor insulation. The projects range from terraces to prisons. From a few thousand Euros to a few million.

What can you expect?
