Function

As a Quantity Surveyor (Grade 8), you will be a key member of the team. Your role will mainly involve analysing construction plans, specifications and bills of quantities, calculating costs and finding strategic solutions to optimise our tenders.

Your duties include:

• Carefully reviewing plans, specifications and bills of quantities, and drawing up detailed cost calculations.
• Requesting quotations and assessing suppliers and subcontractors.
• Propose viable alternatives and highlight implementation difficulties.
• Work closely with and report to the Head of Estimating.
• During your induction period, you will be mentored by an experienced cost estimator to fully master the process of cost estimation within tender documents.

Profile

To be successful in this role, we expect you to:

• At least five years’ relevant experience in cost estimation within the construction sector, preferably on Class 8 projects.
• A degree in architecture, with a strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Accuracy and an eye for detail in your approach.
• A driven, stress-resistant and team-oriented approach to work.
• Knowledge of common software packages; experience with Bouwoffice is an advantage.
• Willingness to commute between offices in Antwerp, Ghent and Hasselt where necessary.
