Transport Insurance Claims Manager

Function

As a Claims Adviser, you will be the point of contact for transport and logistics claims. You will work closely with the various offices and support them in handling claims correctly.

• You will advise colleagues on the handling of claims cases relating to air, road and sea transport and logistics.
• You will take charge of more complex cases independently, including expert reports, claims of €5,000 or more, and cases involving solicitors.
• You will monitor existing procedures and help to ensure a correct and consistent approach to handling transport damage.
• You will liaise with insurers and brokers and negotiate the further handling of cases.
• You will assist with the administrative management of various insurance policies, including fire, professional indemnity, third-party liability and comprehensive cover.
• You analyse customer contracts and contribute ideas regarding insurable risks.
• Not much experience? Then you’ll start with smaller, simpler claims. Building on that foundation, you’ll get to grips with more complex cases and continue to develop in the role.

Profile

For this role, we are primarily looking for someone with a critical and analytical mind. You enjoy getting to the bottom of a case, asking the right questions and not settling for the first answer you’re given.

• You have some initial experience in insurance, claims management or a related field.
• Knowledge of CMR insurance is a major asset.
• You have experience of handling claims independently.
• You negotiate effectively with insurers and other relevant parties.
• You work accurately and have an eye for detail.
• You are not afraid to take responsibility for complex cases.

In addition to this, our client is also looking for a claims manager with limited experience; the following points are therefore important:

• You are interested in transport insurance and would like to develop your career in this field.
• You’re a quick learner and enjoy working analytically.
• You don’t need to be an expert in the CMR or complex transport claims just yet: you’ll develop that knowledge further in-house.

Dutch, French and English are important for both profiles.
