Transport Insurance Claims Adviser

Function

As a transport insurance claims adviser, you will handle the more complex claims cases within the transport and logistics sector. Your expertise will be called upon when a case requires further analysis or guidance.

Your responsibilities include:

• You will advise and support colleagues in handling claims relating to air, road and sea transport and logistics.
• You will take charge of complex cases, including claims exceeding €5,000, cases involving experts and cases in which lawyers are called upon.
• You analyse the circumstances of a claim and determine what information and steps are required to process the case further.
• You will monitor the existing procedures relating to transport damage and ensure they are applied correctly.
• You will liaise with insurers and brokers.
• You will assist with the administrative management of various insurance policies, including fire, professional indemnity, third-party liability and comprehensive cover.
• You analyse customer contracts and identify insurable risks.
• You advise colleagues and other branches when they require additional expertise in relation to a complex claims case.
• You shall engage experts or solicitors where necessary and follow up on their involvement.
• You negotiate with the various parties involved, whilst ensuring that cases are handled correctly.

Profile

For this role, we are looking for someone who already has experience with claims and is comfortable dealing with complex cases.

• You have experience in claims management or a similar role within the insurance sector.
• Knowledge of CMR insurance is a key asset.
• You have an analytical mind and take a critical look at the various elements of a case.
• You are able to analyse contracts and risks in depth.
• You communicate easily with clients, colleagues, insurers, experts and other relevant parties.
• You are a skilled negotiator and know how to reconcile different interests in a professional manner.
• You speak fluent Dutch, French and English.

Organisation

You will be joining an organisation that operates in the transport and logistics sector and serves clients within the sector from various branches. The organisation oversees both operational transport activities and the associated insurance and claims matters.

As a claims adviser, you will act as a specialist point of contact for colleagues and branches dealing with complex claims cases. This gives you a wide-ranging role in which you not only handle cases, but also use your expertise to advise colleagues and provide further support with procedures.
