Cargo Security & Compliance Specialist

Function

You are the point of contact for everything relating to cargo security and compliance.

Specifically, you will:

• Ensures compliance with Belgian, European and international regulations on air cargo security.
• The operational teams provide advice on security risks, regulations and safe working practices.
• follows and further improves Cargo Aviation Security and TAPA processes.
• Changes to legislation and regulations are translated into clear and workable procedures for day-to-day operations.
• Helped to prepare for and oversee internal and external audits, inspections and compliance checks.
• investigates security incidents, analyses their causes and follows up on improvement measures.
• Supports training courses and awareness-raising initiatives relating to security.
• Collaborates with security colleagues across Europe and, in due course, takes part in international projects.

Your role therefore mainly involves identifying risks, improving processes, applying regulations and advising colleagues.

Profile

You possess:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant experience in logistics, supply chain, air freight, security or compliance.
• Basic knowledge of cargo aviation security.
• Knowledge of TAPA (Transported Asset Protection Association) is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex regulations into practical solutions.
• Good communication skills and sufficient maturity to work with various stakeholders and at different management levels.
• An independent, structured and pragmatic approach to work.
• Fluent Dutch and a professional level of English and French.

As you are part of a European security organisation, there may be rare occasions when you are required to be available outside standard working hours, for example in the event of an incident, an audit or an international project.
