Function
- You will prepare accurate cost estimates for a wide range of construction projects based on plans, bills of quantities and sketches.
- You will work closely with the sales manager to draw up accurate and competitive quotations.
- You will consult with the structural engineer regarding the design of steel structures and foundations.
- You take into account material properties, technical requirements and specific customer requirements.
- You request quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and compare them carefully.
- You analyse cost structures and actively seek ways to optimise them without compromising on quality.
- You will monitor deadlines and ensure that multiple projects are managed efficiently.
- You will help ensure that projects are prepared accurately and cost-effectively.
Profile
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an engineering or economics-related field
- You have a good understanding of building plans and technical documents.
- You have a basic knowledge of building materials such as steel, concrete, timber and roofing materials.
- You are proficient in Excel and have a strong aptitude for numbers.
- You have an analytical mind and work with precision.
- You are good at setting priorities and can keep track of things when working on several projects at once.
- You have strong administrative skills and an eye for detail.
- Experience in cost estimation or the construction industry is an advantage, but motivation and a willingness to learn are just as important.
