Function

For our client in Hamont-Achel We are looking for a Purchaser. In this multifaceted role, you will manage the procurement process from requirement to delivery and act as a key link between project managers, engineering, production, the warehouse and suppliers. You will report directly to the CEO and work alongside a fellow procurement officer and warehouse staff.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Procurement and monitoring of raw materials, steel products, production supplies, working materials, subcontracted work and capital goods.
• Analysing and comparing quotations and negotiating price, quality, technical specifications, terms and delivery times.
• Managing and developing supplier relationships, both nationally and internationally, and seeking out new commercial opportunities.
• Optimising procurement processes and working closely with project managers and other departments to translate technical requirements into high-quality and cost-effective solutions.
• Monitoring orders, deliveries and discrepancies, including administrative processing and reporting to the Executive Committee.

Profile

For the position of Purchaser at our client’s premises in Hamont-Achel We are looking for an independent and proactive purchaser with at least three years’ relevant experience, preferably in a technical, industrial or construction context. Experience in the steel sector is an advantage, but what is most important is your ability to understand technical information, identify targeted solutions and critically justify purchasing decisions.

Your profile

• You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree
• At least 3 years’ experience in purchasing, procurement or a similar technical-commercial role.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills, combined with tactical insight and the ability to balance technical and commercial interests.
• A proactive, critical and independent approach to work, with a sense of initiative, attention to detail and a strong team-oriented mindset.
• A good command of Dutch and English; knowledge of French and German is a definite advantage.

Offer

For the position of Purchaser offers our client in Hamont-Achel the following package:

• A gross salary based on experience, ranging from €3,500 to €6,000.
