Home loans consultant
Function
As a Mortgage Adviser, you support private clients with their day-to-day banking matters and financial needs, with a particular focus on mortgage loans.
You take the time to understand your clients' situation and plans — such as the purchase of a property, a building project or a major renovation. On that basis, you map out their financial possibilities and look for a suitable solution.
Your duties will include:
- You support private clients with their day-to-day banking matters and financial questions.
- You identify clients' housing and financing needs.
- You analyse clients' financial situations and explore which credit solutions align with their plans.
- You advise clients on mortgage loans and guide them through the credit process.
- You identify additional needs and opportunities during advisory meetings.
- You independently draw up credit proposals or bring in specialist colleagues when a file requires additional expertise.
- You build sustainable client relationships and ensure the correct follow-up of files.
You do not necessarily need to have every area of expertise yourself. Within the branch you work closely with colleagues who each have their own specialism, ensuring that the client always receives appropriate advice.
Here too you work according to an agile approach. Together with the team, you determine the priorities and objectives on a monthly basis, with ample room for personal initiative and responsibility.
Profile
For this role we are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, recognises commercial opportunities and has an interest in the world of home financing.
- You hold a bachelor's degree in a financial or economic field, or you have built up relevant experience within the banking sector.
- You have initial experience with credits or financial services. Experience with mortgage loans is a strong advantage.
- You have a commercial mindset and find satisfaction in providing personalised client advice.
- You listen attentively to clients and are able to accurately identify their financial needs.
- You work accurately and in a structured manner and enjoy maintaining a clear overview of your files.
- You take responsibility independently and are not afraid to show initiative.
- You are sociable and enjoy working together with colleagues.
- You have a healthy results-driven mindset and enjoy contributing to shared objectives.
You do not need to have a complete mastery of all credit-related matters when you start. Through an extensive training programme, you will have the opportunity to build on your knowledge and develop into a fully-fledged point of contact for private clients.
Organisation
You will join an independent bank branch that is part of a larger banking group. The branch has approximately 12 members of staff and focuses on personal service for both private and professional clients.
Within the team, collaboration is central. Colleagues work closely together, share their knowledge and support one another where needed. At the same time, everyone is given sufficient autonomy and responsibility to take ownership of their own tasks.
The branch is also investing in a new working environment in Zwevegem. From late November 2026, the activities of another branch will be brought together at this location. You will therefore join a team that is building towards the future together, without losing sight of the personal approach.
The commercial approach is based on trust and long-term relationships. The branch genuinely wants to get to know its clients and looks beyond the sale of financial products. Their financial well-being comes first.
Offer
You will join a warm working environment where trust, transparency and teamwork are not empty words. In return, you will receive an attractive remuneration package and ample room to continue developing yourself.
What can you expect?
- A full-time position with a 37.5-hour working week. In practice you work 38 hours, which entitles you to 3 additional days off per year.
- A company car.
- Meal vouchers.
- Eco-vouchers.
- Group insurance.
- Hospitalisation insurance.
- A mobile phone with subscription.
- An extensive training programme through the bank, supplemented by role-specific training courses.
- A close-knit team with open communication and strong mutual collaboration.
- An agile way of working in which you and your colleagues jointly determine the commercial priorities.
- A rota system in which every team member takes one evening appointment per week until 20:00.
You will have the opportunity to further specialise in home financing, whilst being part of a team that encourages knowledge sharing and personal development.
